A loss in the family

It is with a heavy heart that I am posting the following obituary for my departed mother…

March 9, 2009 Natalia Iwaniw (nee:Tyzbir), 84, of Liverpool, died Monday, March 9, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Mrs. Iwaniw was born in Lysiatychi, Ukraine and had lived in the Syracuse and Liverpool areas for 59 years. She retired in 1986 from Syracuse University where she worked in housekeeping for 30 years. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church.Survivors: her husband of 64 years, Theodor; her daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Andre Revutsky of Auburn, NY; her son and daughter-in-law, Taras and Linda Iwaniw of Sicklerville, NJ; four grandchildren, Natalia Meyer, Theodore Revutsky and Christa and Alex Iwaniw; three great-grandchildren, Alexander and Michael Meyer and Haydan Christopher; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, 9:30 a.m. from Macko-Vassallo Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1609 W.
